Papers of the Hawkins family of Port Jefferson include a large number of deeds for land in Port Jefferson, Mt. Sinai, elsewhere in the town of Brookhaven, and in New York City, 1820-1894. Family members involved in the deeds include Ahira, Francis A., Amy J., John B., and Henry Hawkins, as well as Aaron Adams, Jesse Davis, Adelia Edwards, Daniel Hulse, John R. Mather, Davis Norton, Maria Phillip, Sylvester Randall, Philip Romaine, Smith Sills, Thomas H. Tooker, John Wood, and others.
